Forget Me Not was much different than what I was expecting. I'm still torn with my rating, so I'm stuck between 3.5 and 4 stars.
The beginning had almost put me off. I wasn't expecting the crazy amount of sex right off the bat. It was pretty shocking to be honest - not in a dirty way, just in the fact that I had no idea it would start this way. Lily was annoying and whiny at times. The girl has it all, but is miserable being away from her boyfriend, who also happens to be her brother's best friend Derek. The story before this is alluded to and I feel I probably should've read it first. It's probably not necessary, but some readers may want a better idea of their background. They seemed like an adorable couple, but you know something is bound to happen since they're at different colleges. Things start out well, but as they try to settle in, their relationship begins to feel the struggle. During a break that Lily sets into motion, she hooks up with the hot, bad boy on her floor. Whoa!! It was some crazy, intense sex. They spend a weekend together and do some pretty explicit things. I was NOT expecting that! It caught me off guard and in the end seemed almost pointless in reference to the rest of the story.
A showdown of sorts forces Lily to making a choice. The boy she's always wanted in Derek or the new guy that makes her feel everything?
Overall, I liked Forget Me Not more than I thought I would in the beginning. There were moments that made me dislike Lily and others that showed her to be the young and inexperienced girl she is. I liked both guys and really felt bad about how things would end. The choice she will make is obvious but you still wish there didn't have to be one. Things get wrapped up pretty easily but I wonder where the second book will go. Lily still has issues to work on with herself and what she wants and who she is. Her relationship with the guy she chooses is cute and hot, so that's definitely a plus. It's an enjoyable read and you'll be able to breeze through it fairly quickly.
