Good evening everyone. Today we have the lovely Kasey Millstead here to answer some questions for us. Kasey is a new Indy Author with her first book out titled Sapphire and let me tell you it is HOT!! Elliott is one Smokin Hot, Bossy, Alpha Male!! You can check out my review HERE. So enjoy the interview and go check out her book. She even has a giveaway for everyone at the end!!

Hello Kasey! Thanks so much for coming to Alpha's, Authors and Books Oh My to answer our questions. Your very first book was just published titled Sapphire (Steele Investigations, #1) can you tell us a little bit about it?
Sure. It’s about a girl named Rae Scott who has been in love with her best friend’s brother for as long as she can remember. Elliott Steele is a badass Private Investigator and has been quiet the ladies’ man, so to keep from getting hurt, Rae locked her feelings down and concentrated on finishing college and her dreams to open a boutique with her BFF, Kami. Then Elliott decides to throw a spanner in the works and make a play for Rae. Trouble comes knocking in the form of two exes – Elliott’s ex-girlfriend & Rae’s ex-stepfather – and someone dies. Secrets will be revealed and hearts will be healed. Oh, there’s also lots of passionate, steamy, hot sex!!

How did you come up with the title?
Elliott’s eyes are the color of Sapphire’s, and Steele Investigations is the name of Elliott’s business.

What genre would you say it was?
Romance – Erotica, though I think the lines are a bit blurry when it comes to Erotica and Contemporary, however, I think with some of the language used it probably is better classed as Erotica.

How long did it take you to write Sapphire?
Four weeks

Do you have a favorite chapter, scene, or part that you wrote and if so why?
Hmm, I really enjoyed writing the part about the blue pancakes because that’s actually a personal memory, so that was fun to re-create. I also enjoyed writing the “cherry popping” scene.

What was the hardest part of writing this book?
The hardest part? I guess it would have been trying to use words that would evoke emotions, especially during the kidnapping, and also when she thought Elliott was cheating on her with Andi.

Elliot is a true Alpha Male that doesn't really take no for an answer which is my favorite type. Where did his inspiration come from?
The Alpha Male is my favorite too! I have no idea where the story came from to
be honest. It’s the first book I've ever written and it was all in my head, so as soon as I started to write, it just all tumbled out.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Sure. I live in small country town in Central West NSW, Australia, I’m almost 29, I've been married to my wonderful hubby for ten years and together we have four beautiful children, 3 boys and a girl. My second child passed away a year and a half ago (he was 5 ½) in a drowning accident on the property where we live and I think, after losing Jovi, it makes you realize that life is too short and I've always wanted to write, so I finally just did it, and it feels great!

Do you have a writing ritual or a favorite spot to write?
I use the computer, so I usually just type at the desk, however, when I’m driving I’m constantly creating scenes in my head. I have a notepad in my handbag that I jot ideas down on, but mostly I just have the scene in my mind and I sit at the computer and it all comes out.

What do you like to do when you're not writing?
I like to read… a lot. I also like scrapbooking, baking, entertaining my kids and hanging out with friends.

Do you have any favorite authors or favorite books?
I loved the Fifty Shades books, I also loved Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan and I've read and re-read all of Kristin Ashley’s books, my favorite would be Motorcycle Man because I love Tack! I really enjoyed Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire and Tell Me You Want Me by Amelia James…I could go on for hours!!!

What can we expect from you next?
I’m currently working on Travis & Jemma’s story – Travis is Elliott’s brother and together they run Steele Investigations, Jemma is Rae and Kami’s new employee. This story is a little bit (okay, a lot) darker than Sapphire. It’s called Emerald, because that’s the color of Travis’s eyes.

Ok now that all the hard stuff is out of the way it's time for a little fun. Boxers, Briefs or Commando?
Commando ;-)

Coffee or Tea?
Neither, I go for Coke Zero

Bad boy or boy next door?
Definitely the bad boy!

Tattoos & piercings or smooth & unmarked?
Tattoos and piercings

Sleep in or get up early?
Sleep in for sure

Thank you so much for stopping by to talk with us. Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans?
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I really appreciate all the support I've been receiving. Keep an eye for Emerald coming in April! I love and appreciate you all!
