Synopsis:
MacKenzie Cahill has dealt with overbearing and overprotective brothers her entire life, making it near impossible to enjoy her teenage years. Having a boyfriend was practically impossible until she met a guy that wasn't afraid to stand up to them - Dominic. He was sweet, thoughtful, and everything MacKenzie ever wanted in a man.

But when they go away to college at Old Dominion University, MacKenzie sees a whole new side of Dominic and begins to wonder if he really is different from every other guy.

Her world is turned upside down after a party, and her brothers' best friend Hunter is the one there to offer her a shoulder to cry on. The chemistry between them is electric, and feelings for each other that have been hidden for years are finally voiced.

Is Hunter willing to be disloyal to his best friends in order to be with the one girl he's always secretly wanted?

My Review:
Rating – 4
Cover – 4
Character Development - 4
Steam Factor – 3.75 (wanted just a little more details)
Ending – BAM!!!! A cliffhanger out of know where..lol

MacKenzie Cahill was the typical girl next door but with three very overprotective big brothers. Since the day she meet Hunter sitting at the table with her brothers she knew he was the one. The problem was she didn't think he returned her feelings. Then she meet Dominic who actually stood up to her brothers making her think he might be her future.

After graduating high school she followed Dominic (and Tyler :)) to the college they were attending think it was going to be great to be so close to Dominic again. That is when everything slowly started to crumble and her perfect boyfriend didn't seem so perfect anymore which pushed her to seek comfort in Tyler.

MacKenzie is sweet, kind, trusting and always trying to keep the peace between everyone. I wanted to strangle her a few time for be so naive but I guess that is what you get when your older brothers are so over protective of you.

Hunter was amazing. He was the sweet, sexy, tattooed boy next door. He protected her, gave her a shoulder to cry on when she needed it and kept her grounded when things fell apart. He was also trying hard to fight the feelings he had for MacKenzie because he knew her brothers would not approve.

At first I was kind of leery about this story. The Prologue threw me off because the sentences where a little choppy and it made me wonder if going into the first chapter that I might have trouble with the story. So I went in preparing for the worst but I gotta admit that I got so sucked up into the story that I didn't even think about it again...lol I stayed up way past my bedtime because I just couldn't put it down. I got invested into the characters and I had to see where the story took them.

It was shaping up to be a sweet story that looked like it was going to end in a HEA and then BAM out of no where a cliffhanger. I was sitting in my chair with my mouth hanging open wondering what the hell just happened..lol Anyone the reads my reviews know that I despise cliffhangers so I was a thrown but then I realized that the cliffhanger opened a whole new angle to the story so I am excited to see where it leads. I will be keeping an eye out for Megan's next book.

Excerpt:
He came walking over to me, but did not say anything at first. He put his helmet on, and then gently put mine on. He lifted my chin to snap the strap, and looked into my eyes. "I'm not sorry for caring about you, CC."

I did not respond. I did not think he wanted me to. He threw his leg on the bike, kicked the kickstand up and then steadied the bike so I could get on. As we took off back to my house, with the wind in my face and hair, I started to feel bad for blowing up on him the way I did, but I am tired of everyone worrying about my relationship. I was not worried about it, why should they be.

We pulled up in front of my house, and I got off the bike. I reached for the snap on the helmet, but Hunter grabbed my hand and did it himself. I took it off, and started running my fingers through my hair to get the knots out. I looked over at him and was about to apologize when he grabbed the front pocket of my jeans and pulled me to him, "Don't apologize."
