Ok so first of all, have you SEEN this cover??? Seriously the hunk of a man and the woman tied up just lets you know right off the bat that this isn’t your mother or grandmother’s romance novel. While not in your face BDSM, this is more about a true lifestyle RELATIONSHIP!!! While there is the BDSM aspects, it is all about the actual relationship between these characters.
Right from the beginning the female lead Tasha is so realistic and seems like someone I would spend time with. She has just got ended a bad marriage and her friends try to cheer her up. “In a moment of either weakness or insanity, I agreed to allow Holly to put together a divorce party for me. In my mind, I pictured her inviting our high school crew over for fruity, blended drinks and man bashing. Had I been thinking clearly, I would have realized this was Holly we are talking about and said “hell no” to her offer.”
They go out to a club where it is the monthly Leather & Lace Night. This is where things start to happen, and where we meet Dylan. From the beginning, there is something there for Tasha “He’s the opposite of anything I’ve been attracted to in the past, but I’ll be damned if my body doesn’t long to get to know him.” Dylan is a controlled, uber-Alpha Male, there is no question about it “...I don’t appreciate being lied to and I will always protect and take care of what is mine.” (Did I mention that his car could melt panties - I mean hello, a rich purple 1969 Barracuda???)
Now Dylan isn’t your typical Dominant, Alpha Male (hello, did anyone see the band thing coming??), and Tasha isn’t your typical submissive, quiet little female. They both have a past that makes them who they are today. Along the way, we meet Zack (Dylan’s best friend and another Dominant Alpha) that becomes close with Tasha, like an overprotective brother as well as Tommy (another friend of Dylan’s) who is a cop. We also get to know Holly (Tasha’s friend since childhood), who hasn’t had an easy life.
There are twists and turns, some suspense as well as some GREAT sex in this book. Dylan and Tasha are realistic, and yet don’t fit the cookie cutter mold for the two main characters in the first of this new series. Personally, I can’t wait to read more about the other two great guys we meet along the way and see what happens to them, and the women they meet.
