Book Description:
Rylee Thomas is used to being in control. But she’s about to meet the one man that just might make her enjoy losing it…

I am the exception to the rule.

In a world full of willing women, I’m a challenge to the roguish and achingly handsome Colton Donavan. A man used to getting exactly what he wants in all aspects of life. He’s the reckless bad boy constantly skating that razor thin edge toward out of control, on and off of the track.

Colton crashes into my life like a tornado: sapping my control, testing my vulnerabilities beyond their limits, and unintentionally penetrating the protective wall around my healing heart. Tearing apart the world I rebuilt so carefully with structure, predictability, and discipline.

I can’t give him what he wants and he can’t give me what I need. But after a glimpse beneath his refined exterior into the dark secrets of his damaged soul, can I bring myself to walk away?

Our sexual chemistry is undeniable. Our individual need for complete control is irrefutable. But when our worlds collide, is the chemistry enough to bring us together or will our untold secrets and battle of wills force us apart?

My Review:
Rating - 4.5 Stars!!
Cover - 4 Stars - It is sexy but understated!!
Character Development - 4 Stars - still alot of growth left
Steam Factor - 5 dirty talking stars!!!
Ending - Cliffhanger - Part of a Trilogy!!

Rylee Thomas is emotionally and physically damaged by her past. She doesn't think she will ever feel the tingle of chemistry that is until literally falls into the arms of womanizing playboy Colton Donavan.

Rylee is strong, caring and fiercely independent. The last two years of her life have been devoted to "her boys" and she will do anything she can to give them what they need. She is use to being in control of her life and everything in it. So when she feel drawn to Colten, despite knowing he is no good for her, she doesn't know how to handle it.

~"Aren't you the least bit curious how good it will be? If it's this electrifying with just the brush of our skin against each other, can you imagine what it will be like when I'm buried inside of you?"~

Colton is a charming, sexy, arrogant playboy with a capitol P. He is also emotionally scarred which leaves him with major commitment issues. He is use to women falling all over him and not having to work hard to get them in his bed for a night. So when Rylee is "almost" immune to his charm and dirty talk he see it as a challenge and his mom always told him to go after what he wants.

~"Keep fighting me, Sweetheart. The feistier you are, the harder you make me."~

~I bet he fucks like he drives--a little reckless, pushing all the limits, and in it until the very last lap.~

"Sweet Jesus" this book was full of emotions and smokin-hot-burn-up-the-sheets chemistry. Rylee was so not your typical heroine because for the most part she didn't take shit from Colton. Although I did want to shake her a few times..lol Colton was a walking talking advertisement for sex. He was everything I look for in a BBF, sexy, charming, good with his mouth..lol and an asshat. Yes I love my asshats so sue me..lol

The story keeps you glued to the pages until the very last one. It takes you on a roller-coaster of a ride that slings your emotions all of the place and then leaves you going WTF just happened. The ending was a cliffhanger but I new it before I started so I was expecting it. The only possible think I could even complain about is that it would have been even better if we could have got a little glimps into Colten's head through his POV and that is not even a complaint just more of a wish..lol K. Bromberg has made a new fan because I will be counting the days until the next one!!
Now we have a special treat for you. The author of Driven was gracious enough to answer some of our burning questions so enjoy this Interview with K. Bromberg!!

Thank you so much for coming to Alphas Authors & Books Oh My and sitting down with us for an interview. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am a working mother of three children under the age of seven – so that means I spend a lot of time wanting to write and never getting to. I grew up in Southern California where I still live with my husband and kids. I have bachelors degress in Economics and Political Science (but have never really used them…but don’t tell anyone). I’ve always written…always…I’ve always had outlines or chapters written here and there, but last year decided to do something with the two characters that kept interrupting my thoughts…and Driven was created.

You have your first book out titled Driven which is the first book in a trilogy. Can you describe Driven in 30 Words or less.

A battle of wills and denial of attraction between two people who find each at a time in their lives when they need each other the most.
(whew, I did it! I’m usually pretty wordy so that was hard for me… lol)

What inspired you to want to write your first book?
No inspiration really…just something I’ve always wanted to do and never did. And then Rylee and Colton made a permanent residence in my imagination last year so I figured I should but the fingers to keyboard and start writing what they had to say.

What genre would you consider Driven?
That’s a tricky one as it borders on Erotic Romance and Contemporary Romance. I’ve heard some bloggers refer to it as New Adult as well because Rylee is in her mid-twenties and discovering herself. On Amazon it’s categorized under Erotic Romance, but I’m okay with any of the three.

What was your favorite scene to write and why?
I think the scene in the club was one of my favorites. It is the culmination of all of Rylee and Colton’s verbal sparring and sexual tension/chemistry. There is a whole lot of sass, a definite test of wills and one hell of a finale.

If you could cast Rylee & Colton for a movie about Driven who would play them?
That’s a difficult question for me. I didn’t have any set person that I used for inspiration for my character. And to be honest, I don’t like when authors tell me whom they use either. To me, no one is ever going to look like the image I have of a character in my head…so I’d rather not say in case that ruins someone else’s mental image. I’d love to hear from readers though on who they’d like to see play Colton and Rylee. It’s interesting for me to hear the images that other people have just from my words alone.
What Authors or books have had the most influence on your writing?
I don’t think a particular author per se has had an impact on my writing. I read a lot of books in my genre so when you read enough of something, it tends to sink in your head; the flow of things and the typical format of how the scenes should go. I will say though that one author in particular didn’t influence my work but allowed authors such as myself the chance to get our stories out there and that of course is EL James. Her success with FSOG made it acceptable to read novels that talked about “sex” in more graphic detail. It became more mainstream so because of her, authors like myself have a platform in which we can be heard/read/accepted by the public.

Do you have a writing ritual or a favorite writing spot?
I usually write at a table in my kitchen nook. Having three young children, I’m not afforded much quiet time to write, so I usually write at this particular table because it allows me to watch my kids play outside. And at night after all are asleep, lunches are made for school the next day, and I spend some time with my husband, I try and steal a few more hours on the computer in the rare silence of my house.

What do you consider the hardest part about writing a book?
I think the hardest part is making sure there are no lulls in the story. No one wants to read a story with fluff in there; scenes inserted for no reason and a sex scene thrown in just to have one. I try really hard to make sure that every chapter has a purpose in the overall telling of the story. In a trilogy this is hard sometimes because you have to plant things or ideas in book #1 that is going to come to fruition in book #3. I’ve had a few people comment that such and such a thing was never answered in book #1 and that’s because it is being carried through the rest of the series. So, the short answer is that the hardest part is making sure that every scene and action has a meaning and is working toward the overall goal/plotline of the novel.

Driven is part of a trilogy so does Rylee & Colton's story continue or is the next book about different characters?
Book #2, Fueled, and Book #3, Crashed, are the continuation of Rylee and Colton’s story. They have a lot more to say before I’m finished with them and besides, I could never end a book like I did Driven without explaining why. People have asked me if Haddie is going to have her own story told because they like what a spitfire she is…we’ll just have to see on that.

Ok Now for the fun stuff!! Coffee, Tea or Soda?
Diet Coke – definitely. I’m one of those weird people that doesn’t even like the smell of coffee let alone the taste of it.

Night Owl or Morning Person?
Five months ago I would have said Morning person without hesitating…but recently, I’ve become quite the night owl trying to get everything done for the promotion of Driven. So I’d say a little bit of both.

Boxers, briefs or commando?
Depends on the day and you don’t have ‘thong’ on there. That should be a choice!

Vanilla, Strawberry, or Chocolate?
Chocolate

Bad Boy or Boy Next Door?
Hmmmm…can it depend on what I need him for? I’d say Boy Next Door with a little bit of Bad Boy mixed in.

Comedy or Horror?
Comedy – I’m a big chicken!

Thank you again for taking the time to let us interview you. Do you have anything else you would like to say to your fans?
Thank you for taking the time to speak with me and about Driven. I’d like to thank the readers for picking up Driven, a debut novel from a new author you've never hear of before, and spreading the word about it. It’s amazing the power of social media so I appreciate you guys talking it up and recommending it to other readers and friends—you have made all the difference. I’m so happy that you have all fell in love/hate with Colton and Rylee as much as I have and I look forward to sharing Fueled with you. I hope you’ll love it as much as I already do. I love to hear from you—your thoughts, your complaints, where you think the story should go—so don’t hesitate to email me through my website or stop by and see me on Facebook, Pinterest, or Goodreads.
